In 3 words or less describe your average day at CrossFit Trifecta.
Love/Hate Relationship

What were you doing before CrossFit?
I was stuck on the global gym hamster wheel. I would cycle through every 24 hr. fitness class. Spin, body pump, yoga, Zumba, boot camp, I ran (still run) in various 5K’s, half marathons and obstacle course races.

How did you hear about CrossFit and/or CrossFit Trifecta?
From a coworker she said I needed to try CF. I decided to give it a go and I never saw the inside of another 24 hr. Fitness again.

Give us some insight as to your thoughts after your first workout at CrossFit Trifecta.
It was 16.4 death on a platter WOD. I was dead and all I could think was; Yes, I’m still old, this still sucks but I love the feeling of getting my A$$ handed to me on a platter so I’ll be back!

Tell us a little about then vs. now. In regard to your fitness level before you found CrossFit Trifecta to now.
I was in a CF slump. I didn’t feel like I could do any more than my own mental preset limits and I wasn’t being pushed to break any barriers. CFT coaches are sneaky little limit pushers. They smile and tell you to add a little weight to your bar. They say you can go a little faster or that you can do one more rep and then they step back and watch you push and fight past your limits. Thanks guys! I may look like I hate it but I really appreciate your encouragement. I’m literally trying NOT to die.

Do you have any special or favorite CrossFit Trifecta memories/moments?
Having to start a new box at the tail end of the open was a bit nerve wracking. At the end of it I was physically and mentally spent; I was LEGIT in tears. I peeled myself off the floor and expected support by the few people I knew but everyone around me was on congratulating me on a job well done. I immediately knew that CFT was where I wanted to be.

What advice would you give to someone just joining CrossFit Trifecta?
Leave your ego and negative thoughts about your abilities at the door. Don’t worry about having to scale a WOD or being the last person to finish. Showing up is half the battle and the rest is up to you. You’ll get stronger, your confidence will grow and before you know it you’ll wonder why you ever doubted yourself in the first place.

Additional Comments?
Thank you to the entire coaching staff for putting up with my foul mouth and dirty looks during my workouts. I appreciate that y’all push me and then push me some more because you believe in my abilities. Tommy has built a solid foundation and it shows in every single member of this community. Thank you to my fellow CFT’ers for pushing me to go faster, do more work and be better than I was the day before.
